Tornac was designed by French type designer and calligrapher Jérémie Hornus. Deriving its name from a tiny commune in the Languedoc region of France, this handwriting style font feels like a warm summer afternoon; it’s a shopping list casually written, just in time to catch la boulangerie before lunch.
Tornac has a pleasing, rhythmic flow, that is natural and spontaneous, a result of understanding the controlled movements of skilled calligraphy, combined with precise draughtsmanship. Its wide proportions lend Tornac an air of elegance, and the contrasting stroke modulations betray the nib used to write the letters. Tornac is ideally suited to magazine titles, in particular fashion, and to food and in-store labelling.
